Tens of thousands of people joined the Peace March organized in Budapest by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Hungarians celebrate that day a national vacation commemorating the 1848 revolution.

Two banners are carried at the front of the walk: “March of Peace” and “We will not become a Ukrainian colony”. The crowd is dominated by Hungarian flags and symbols of Fidesz – the group of Prime Minister Orbán. Red-white-green bows, bracelets or flags are sold on stalls in the assembly area.

The march crosses the Margaret Bridge from Buda to Pest, where Prime Minister Orbán will talk to his supporters in Kossutha Square.

The Sunday march, like a number of another events organised by the Hungarian authorities in fresh months, is to express, among another things, opposition to the European Union's approach to the war in Ukraine.

The Hungarian Government besides accuses Ukraine of trying to influence
to the country's interior policy and to support the pro-Ukrainian opposition.
