Hungarian tv station M1 has discontinued broadcasting. A black board appears on the screen and says: “Public media cannot lie. We apologize for doing this for years (...)". The news service aired on this channel has been suspended and will start operating in a fresh formula. In turn, only music flows from the public Radio Kossuth.

These activities are part of a larger plan implemented by the fresh Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar. Its aim is to introduce major changes after Viktor Orban's many years of government. On his behalf, a fresh order in state media is introduced by the interim president of MTVA Andras Horvath, who arrived at the office of M1 this morning along with the management team.

The Prime Minister referred to the event by posting a meaningful entry on the X site: “Historic day. Today, propaganda in Hungarian public media is yet over (...). They lied at night. They lied the day. They lied on all channel. It's over."
