The widow’s pension, which allows 2 benefits to be collected simultaneously, has been in operation since 1 July of this year. Despite the favourable rules for seniors, the rules inactive leave much to be desired. The biggest problem is those who have lost a spouse besides soon. It takes a year of difference to stay with nothing.
This year, provisions came into force that introduced the anticipation of combining the payment of the household pension with the basic benefit. ZUS data indicate that by the end of September, the widow's pension was received by 890,1 1000 people. A widow's pension - who is entitled? Age is the most important
In accordance with the applicable rules, payment for entitled persons may be 100 percent of their own benefit and 15 percent of their household pension after their spouse or vice versa. In order for ZUS to be able to pay the widow’s pension, the applicant must fulfil respective conditions necessary:

reach the general retirement age - 60 years of female or 65 years of man;
remain in marital union until the date of death of the spouse after whom the survivor's pension is entitled;
acquire the right to a survivor's pension after the deceased spouse not earlier than 55 years (female) or 60 years (man);
not be married after the death of the spouse after whom the survivor's pension is payable.

In addition, the sum of benefits at the confluence may not exceed 3 times the lowest pension. The limit is so 1 of the most common reasons for decisions against ZUS. Only by the end of September, about 113,2 1000 have been issued. Unfortunately, many people cannot get benefits either due to the age criteria in force. It is this aspect that raises the top controversy.

Retirement widow 2025. Poles say the rules are unfair
More and more widowers and widowers indicate that widow’s pension is paid on terms that can be very severe. Those who have lost their spouse even 1 year besides early, for example at 54, cannot be supported. This means that not all citizens who have faced failure and are in a hard situation will receive state aid. This mechanics causes a wide wave of opposition. According to the website Fact, even letters and petitions addressed to president Karol Nawrocki appear. In the writings, widows and widowers pay attention to unequal treatment. At present, their opportunities and legal situation depend on a peculiar year of death of a loved 1 alternatively than actual needs or losses. In their view, the system, which was to be a form of security, is unjust and not adapted to the realities of widows and widowers. There have been so requests for amendments to the provisions and even requests for referral to the Constitutional Court. At the moment, any decision on the widow’s pension shall be suspended. It is worth adding, however, that from 1 January 2027 the second benefit will be paid at 25 percent. Then those who are incapable to search support will be able to talk about even greater losses.
