Wawel: residence of the president of Poland

Wawel's union with the Presidents of the Republic is not limited to the burial of Lech Kaczyński in 2010. During the interwar period, and even in the first years after 1945, Wawel Hill (including the erstwhile royal castle) served as the authoritative residence of the head of state.
