“Dream times of the demolition of Poland”
Mariusz Kamiński reported that he had sent a letter to Szymon Holownia, in which he notified him of his decision not to attend the Pegasus committee of inquiry, which he did not recognise. He besides addressed the talker of the Sejm, calling for the restoration of the importance of the Polish parliament as shortly as possible and care for the political principles. He besides objected to the attack on peculiar services officers, pointing out that the “ponure times of destroying Poland” would rapidly pass.
A erstwhile Head of peculiar Services from the time of the PiS government was called in at 12:30 on Tuesday to attest before the aforementioned committee. As a reason for his absence, he stated "a ruling of the Constitutional Court of 10 September 2024", which in his opinion clearly states that the committee is acting illegally, violating constitutional provisions.
The mustache writes about the “mask”
Maciej Wąsik 2 minutes later besides published a message on the X site in which he reported that he did not intend to attend the proceeding before the Pegasus committee of inquiry. He pointed out that, under the judgement of the Constitutional Court, the committee was acting against the law, which relieved him of his work to appear.
At the same time, I believe that the work of the 'commission' and the attitude of its members undermine the dignity of the Polish Sejm. The consequence of its activity is paralysis of the operational work of Polish peculiar services. The real nonsubjective is to guarantee impunity for certain politicians who commit serious corruption offences. That's why I'm not going to participate in this charade. – wrote Wąsik on platform X.
Commission is working again
For Tuesday, the Pegasus Investigative Committee planned the proceeding of Mariusz Kamiński, erstwhile head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs and CBA, and his deputy, Maciej Wąsik. However, the president of the committee Magdalena Magroka expressed doubts about their presence. This is the first call by the Sejm committee of enquiry of both of these politicians for questioning.
At 10:30, after the failure of Maciej Wąsik, the committee unanimously decided to impose a financial punishment on him. At 12:30 a.m. a akin vote will be held on Mariusz Kamiński, who besides announced that he would not attend the hearing.
In September, the Constitutional Court found the scope of the Pegasus Committee of enquiry to be unconstitutional, stating that the Sejm was sitting "in the incorrect composition", as Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik, with no mandates, could not participate in the work of Parliament. From now on it is simply a constant direction of defence for both PiS politicians.
