On Wednesday 11 March in the Basilica of the Holy Cross in Warsaw at 6 p.m. Bishops gathered at 404. The Plenary gathering of the Polish Episcopal Conference will celebrate the Holy Mass.
The Eucharist on the second day of the gathering of the Plenary Assembly of KEP will be chaired by Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda SAC, president of the Polish Episcopal Conference. The homily will be given by Bishop Paweł Socha CM, the auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Zielona Góra-Gorzowska, who belongs to the Assembly of the Missionary Priests of St Vincent and Paulo.
The Basilica of the Holy Cross in Warsaw is an crucial place on the spiritual map of Warsaw. The church was destroyed many times, especially during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, erstwhile it almost completely demolished. After the war, it was carefully rebuilt and reconstructed in historical form. The temple contains urns with the hearts of prominent Poles, including Frederick Chopin and Władysław Reymont. A characteristic part of the facade is the figure of Christ carrying a cross with the inscription “Sursum Corda”.
