In Mazovia, the difference between Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki was little than 18 1000 votes. The Civic Coalition candidate won with a margin of only half a percent. He won mainly thanks to the votes of Warsaw residents. Outside the capital, things were much worse. His rival outclassed him in 35 out of 42 counties. There were communes where over 87 percent of voters voted for him.
