"Wara of my grandchildren". Tusk responds harshly to Nawrock. In the background, a journey to the United States and the Council of Peace

Donald Tusk sharply responded to Charles Nawrock after Sunday (15 February) statements by the president at Polsat News, in which a comparison was made to the “granddaughter” and “syn” of the Prime Minister. A fewer hours later, Tusk wrote on page X: "Mr President, I realize fear, I realize nerves, but from my granddaughters the war". The background of the dispute is Wednesday (11 February) the Prime Minister's words about Nawrocki's possible departure to Washington for the inauguration of the Council of Peace and the announcement of the government's transmission of "full dossier" on Poland's position.

In an interview at Polsat News Nawrocki referred to Tusk's proposition of his planned departure to Washington for a gathering of the alleged Peace Council, an initiative linked to US president Donald Trump. “The Prime Minister can tell his boy where he can go or his grandchildren. The Prime Minister will not tell the president of Poland where he can go. I can fly where I want” said Nawrocki in the program "Rymanowski's breakfast in Polsat News and Interii". This is what became a direct incendiary point and explains why Tusk responded with the “granddaughter” theme.

Mr. President, I realize fear, I realize nerves, but from my granddaughters, I'm afraid.

Where did the “dossier” and the function of “witness” come from?

The sharp exchange has its origin in the events of last Wednesday, February 11, erstwhile the subject of the Peace Council appeared before the National safety Council meeting. Tusk then said that Poland "under the current circumstances" would not join the work of this initiative, but will further analyse it, and the invitation to the inaugural gathering on 19 February is "open" to the Prime Minister or President. The same speech featured words that later returned in comments: The Prime Minister announced that if Nawrocki decides to attend the gathering “as a witness”, he would “get a full dossier from the government on how to proceed”.

In practice, Tusk signalled the separation of 2 orders: the political presence of the president at the global event and the formal position of the government, which declared to abstain from entering the project. Nawrocki read this expression as an effort to restrict his freedom, which he translated into a harsh consequence to the Prime Minister on Sunday. As a result, the dispute over organization roles rapidly descended to individual level, and Tusk's reaction was as short as direct.

On Thursday 12 February, before leaving for the informal EU summit in Belgium, Tusk added a thread of relations with the US. “Our country is simply a faithful ally of the United States, but we will be none” – he said, while stressing the importance of transatlantic ties.

The message was interpreted as a signal of caution towards fresh formats and political pressures, but on Sunday it was no longer a diplomatic framework, only 1 conviction about "uncles" gave the speech of the full feud.
