Former Prime Minister of Ukraine, and presently leader of the opposition organization “Batkiwszczyna” (Homeland), heard corruption charges. Julia Tymoshenko is another leading Ukrainian politician accused of taking bribes and buying influence. Last year, the investigation of the National Anti-corruption Office of Ukraine buried the career of the "grey eminence" of Volodymyr Zelenski's cabinet, Andrij Jermak. As a consequence of the same case, Timur Mindik, the erstwhile manager of Zelenski, escaped from the country, who introduced him to politics.

The peculiar Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) reported that the erstwhile Prime Minister of Ukraine (in charge of the Majdan Revolution in 2005 and 2007-2010) had heard corruption charges. Earlier, the services carried out a search at her party's office, during which 4 stacks of $100 bills were found.

The allegations of the National Anti-corruption Office of Ukraine (NABU) and SAP concern the “buy” of the votes of deputies of another factions who supported or blocked the applicable draft laws for money. The head of the opposition faction was to offer 1 of the deputies $10,000. The prosecutors will be bringing the case to court soon.

The case-describing “Rzeczpospolita” suggests that the search in Tymoshenko's office caused genuine concern in the remaining members of the ultimate Council. "For the first time in a long time, during the speech of the leader of “Batkiwszczyna” there was silence in the plenary room: the MPs did not shout and did not talk on mobile phones, but they listened to the erstwhile Prime Minister's account from the night review," we read.

Although Tymoshenko no longer has specified support in the country (her organization has 24 deputies in the 450-member parliament), in the West it inactive remains a symbol of the fight against Russian influences in Ukraine. In 2011-2014, under the regulation of Viktor Yanukovych, she held prison sentences for embezzlement in state gas companies. Many Ukrainians then considered her a political prisoner.

Corruption at the tops of power and in state-owned companies is inactive a real scourge in Ukraine. Only last year Kiev was shaken by a powerful scandal involving Zelenski's most trusted people. The protégé president of Ukraine was to illegally collect from the contractors of the state energy company Enerhoatom from 10-15 percent of the contract value. As a consequence of the NABU action, Timur Mindik, a trusted Zelenski and his artistic manager, escaped to Israel. The resignation was besides made by Andrij Jermak, the head of the office of the president of Ukraine, called the "grey eminence" of the cabinet of Zelenski.
