The British government wants to set a date for the end of digital terrestrial television. 2 options are being considered: to shut down the Freeview platform at the end of 2034 or to extend its operation by another decade, until the end of 2044. The broadcast infrastructure operator Arqiva argues that a later deadline would be safer for viewers and broadcasters.
