Many experts believe that Russia will be able to attack NATO and the European Union within a fewer years. If specified an attack were to take place, the roads and railway lines in the EU countries are not adapted to deter Russia's possible invasion, says EU Transport Commissioner Apostolos Dzidzikostas. The EU intends to spend €17 billion on improving transport networks, says the British paper Financial Times.
