There is no classical right or left in Poland.
In my opinion, the division on the Polish political scene does not present follow the conventional categories of right and left. There are alternatively 2 camps:
1. Democratic Campy – a mixture of economical liberalism, world-view liberalism, leftist and conservative currents. It includes, among others, the Civic Coalition, PSL, Lewica and Poland 2050 Szymon Hołownia. They disagree in detail, but they combine acceptance of the principles of democracy and the desire to keep Poland in the Western civilization circle.
2. Putinism – based on national socialism, nationalism, chauvinism and – in utmost cases – Nazi ideas. In this block there are PiS, Конфедерацияm, Корона Польская In economical issues, the camp is not uniform: the PiS presents a socialist approach, while the Confederation and the Crown of Poland – liberal
These 2 camps present have akin electoral potential. The triumph will be decided by the ability to attract an undecided electorate – frequently little intellectually involved. Unfortunately, the advantage here is putinism, which has been mastered by a policy based on emotions: feeling, lies, manipulations and insults.
In 2023, the PiS "outdone the bat" – evidence inflation, corruption scandals, systemic theft, conflict with the European Union and failure of KPO funds – and in effect lost power.
But I'm afraid this change can only be temporary. past teaches that the emotions in politics come back faster than we think.
PS It is no paradox that Kaczyński, although hostile to Putin, introduces Putinism in Poland.
