drone technologies, long-distance impact capabilities and strengthening defence in the Baltic are the main topics of the NATO Defence Ministers meeting. Politicians met in Brussels, at the head of the Polish delegation was Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. "Many things accelerated, especially this vector of Polish safety facing the Baltic", concluded the head of the MON.

Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz took part in the gathering of the North Atlantic Council in Brussels. The talks focused on investment in defence and defence industries, gathering commitments to increase defence spending to 5% of GDP, maintaining support for Ukraine and the Arctic Sentry mission, which responds to Russia and China's expanding activity in the Arctic. The programme besides included a gathering of defence ministers in NATO-Ukraine format, attended by the fresh Minister of Defence of Ukraine Mikhail Fedov.

The head of the Polish Defence Ministry stated at the end of the gathering that the Alliance confirmed its coherence, and talks were held in a different atmosphere than those of president Donald Trump at the beginning of his term. "We see the European Union's response, the answer that Poland gave first, raising radically the cost of arms. Let me remind you that in 4 years we have tripled our defence budget spending from around 60 billion in 2022 to 200 billion this year. We are the absolute leader of growth," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

RECLAMA

Several letters of intent were signed on the occasion of the gathering of the heads of the defence department. Poland, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and the United Kingdom have, among others, concluded an agreement on the improvement of mark attack capability over 500 km. It is about the improvement of low-cost, mass-produced long-range systems based on one-way effectsors or circular ammunition systems. The initiative involves applying for EU co-financing and is to be implemented under ELSA (European Long Strike Approach). – This is 1 of 2 key actions of NATO and Poland, i.e. drone and anti-drone systems, and a very precise range. These are the 2 most crucial elements of the Polish and Natovian strategy of deterrence and defence. We request to make specified initiatives," said Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamish.

Another agreement concerns the improvement of Task Force X Baltic, a NATO initiative that aims to test and rapidly implement for the service of modern technologies. They are intended to strengthen the military's ability to defend critical maritime infrastructure facilities.
