VIII National Environment Pilgrimage to Jasna Góra [+FOTORELATION]

On 3 June 2023 representatives of the national environment from all over Poland, as well as guests from the Hungarian organization Mi Hazánk They visited the Monastery of Pauline Fathers at Jasna Góra, pilgrimage under the motto “Imitate Christ — Love and Serve”. Its author is the patron of the All-Polish Youth, as well as the patron of this year's pilgrimage — St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe.

The celebrations began with a gathering in the conference area placed in the Bastion of St. Barbara. This year's pilgrimage was held under the patronage of St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe, and for this reason the first point of it was a lecture on the life of a peculiar saint and a retreat based on his accomplishments during his earthly wandering. It was stressed that his martyrdom was, despite its large importance, only a fraction of Father Maximilian's full earthly activity. Another component of the event was the Way of the Cross, whose reflections were based on both the Passion of Christ and events occurring during the stay of the saint in the Auschwitz concentration camp.

After lunch, a solemn march began. The pilgrims formed a column at the ft of the hill, at the monument of Blessed Fr Jerzy Popiełuszko, and then began to march towards the monastery. The march was accompanied by swinging national flags and flags with Szczerbek, a symbol of the Polish national movement. The march was celebrated by 2 pre-war flags, leading the march and songs, specified as “From the old Polish you are Queen, Mary.” The column of nationalists attracted broad interest from another pilgrims visiting Jasna Góra that day.

The interest did not weaken during the Holy Mass erstwhile young nationalists formed a flag spreader inside the Chapel.

After a solemn service before the Image of Our woman of Czestochowa, participants of the pilgrimage returned to Bastion of St. Barbara for the ceremonial academy, which began with the introduction of the banner of the All-Polish Youth, National Movement and the Union of National Armed Forces Soldiers. Then, commemorative speeches, delivered by among others, president of the All-Polish Youth Marcin Kowalski and erstwhile president of Ziemowit Przebitkowski, president of ZŻNAZ Karol Wołek and head of the Catholic Action were heard.

Later a solemn oath of fresh members of the All-Polish Youth was made and a national anthem was sung. Before leaving the area the participants were waiting for a stand where nationalist and Catholic publications could be purchased, commemorative gadgets from the “I Love Poland” action and stickers.

After dark, pilgrims formed another column, but this time from the entrance gate. In the glow of the torches marched around the monastic hill, raising loud shouts, specified as “Youth, faith, nationalism!” and “Family the strength of the nation!” The march ended under the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, under which tribute was paid to well-deserved national activists and those who gave their lives in the name of independent Poland.

The culmination of the full day was a frame depicting the image of St Maximilian Maria Kolbe and the motto of this year's pilgrimage on Jasna Góra membranes.
