Venezuelan immigrants in the US are mostly refugees who have left their homeland ruled by dictatorial government president Nicolas Maduro for political reasons, frequently for fear of repression against the opposition.
Federal justice Edward Chen suspended on Monday the implementation of the decision of the American Secretary of National safety Kristi Noem, concerning termination of the interim protection programme against the deportation of Venezuelans residing in the United States.

The opposition Unitary Democratic Platform recalls that "The influx of thousands of Venezuelans into the US is simply a consequence of the humanitarian crisis in their country, and millions of honest citizens of this Latin American country are now contributing to the improvement of all country they live in."

The decision of the American justice was besides accepted with gratitude by the Venezuelan opposition organization of the People's Will. She wrote in her message that “it is an act of justice for hundreds of thousands of our peoplewho were forced to flee the dictatorship of Nicolas Maduro and fight present to rebuild their lives."
