"On Saturday 26 April 2025 at 10 a.m. before St Peter's Basilica will be celebrated Holy Mass for Francis, according to Ordo Exsequiarum Romani Pontificis (document “The ceremony order of the Roman Pope” – ed.) – reads the statement.
After the service, the ceremony rites of Ultima commendatio and Valedictio will be celebrated.
"Trumna with the body of the Pope of Rome will then be transferred to the Basilica of Saint Peter, and from there to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore for burial," said Ravelli.
