"A large prayer for life is urgently needed, permeating the full world." St. John Paul II's words are besides valid today.

When we started the First Week of Prayer for the Protection of Life, this was the time erstwhile we said "life won" the Constitutional Court decision. After 5 years, however, we can see that the good in question must be protected and constantly sought. Nothing is given erstwhile and for all. The opponents of life do not cease in successive attempts to change the law to those that would let the kid to be killed with impunity. Moreover, already having access to power, they are trying to impose their explanation of the laws in force so as to force doctors to have abortions in the name of a woman's intellectual wellness threat. More life-respecting infirmary directors are thrown out of work, and women begin to walk after being referred to a psychiatrist for abortion. You can't just stand by and watch. You gotta stand for the fact – life.

In 1979, in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, St. John Paul II called for prayer for life. He said: “Let all who perceive to me, here or anywhere, talk a simple and essential papal call to prayer. And this is the most crucial call. The most crucial message!’ These words were spoken at a time erstwhile free Poland was a dream, and abortion, counted in hundreds of thousands a year, decimated our nation and left a lasting mark in the hearts and consciences of millions of women. You always gotta start with prayer and then act.

We cordially invitation you to participate in the 5th Week of Prayer for the Protection of Life. This is our consequence to the call of John Paul II to prayer. This year we will especially look at these holy and blessed Poles, who peculiarly distinguished themselves in the defence of the life of a man – St John Paul II, Blessed Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, Blessed Jerzy Popieluszko, St Maximilian Maria Kolbe, Blessed Ulmów family, Blessed Hanna Chrzanowska and Servant of God Stanisława Leszczyńska. Let their example and integrity be the motivation for a persistent conflict for the anticipation of being born and worthy of the life of all man.

The Week of Prayer for the Protection of Life will begin on 19 March – the celebration of St. Joseph and will last until 25 March – the Day of the Feast of Life. In the following days we will be accompanied by reflections inspired by the heritage of Polish saints and blessed defenders of human life. We will besides read the prayer taken from the encyclical “Evangelium vitae” and litania to the Holy Family.

We encourage you to invitation members of the Family, Friends, Friends of Communities to a prayer together. The planet needs to hear the Gospel of Life, the good news of life, which is simply a gift – fragile but priceless.
