The United States has announced a decision to reduce the number of soldiers stationed in Romania. due to the fact that the American troops are besides present in Poland, questions arose about their further stay on the Vistula River. "From my erstwhile talks with Pete Hegseth and today's talks with Deputy Minister of National Defence Paweł Zalewski and Head of the General Staff of the Polish Army, General Wiesław Kukuła, with our allies, we have obtained confirmation that there will be no simplification of the presence of American troops in Poland" - wrote on Wednesday evening in the service of MON Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

Earlier that day, it was reported that the United States was planning to reduce the number of its troops stationed on the east NATO flank, including those to be deployed at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base in Romania. The Romanian Ministry of Defence informed this, as quoted by Reuters.

The hotel reported that the decision was expected to change Washington's priorities. About 1,000 American soldiers will stay in Romania. At the same time, between 1,000 and 1,200 military men who completed the rotation a period ago will not be replaced.

Americans partially retreat from Romania

"American decision marks the end of brigade rotation, the elements of which were stationed in respective NATO countries," reported the Romanian Ministry. The U.S. Command underlined in turn that this decision does not mean the U.S. withdrawing from Europe or weakening its engagement in NATO.
