The media has been dealing with little mediate East lately, but that doesn't mean anything interesting is happening there. Right. Thierry Meyssan published an highly interesting article describing the talks between the US and Iran.
Here's his translation
Rate in Donald Trump's negotiations with the muslim Republic of Iran
Written by Thierry Meyssan
The public has no thought what the negotiations between Washington and Tehran are actually about. This article describes a situation in which for 3 decades 1 lie followed another, which makes it peculiarly hard to accomplish any progress. Contrary to popular belief, the issue of atomic weapons in Iran is not about whether Tehran will get a atomic bomb, but whether it will be able to aid Palestine without resorting to weapons.
A period and a half ago, I announced that even before the peace in Ukraine, president Donald Trump intends to start negotiations with Iran [1]. As usual, commentators steeped in Joe Biden's ideology have sarcasmed me, while my colleagues, global affairs specialists, have understood my predictions [2].
The difference between them was their knowing of negotiations in Ukraine. For the former, it was Donald Trump's revenge on Zelenski Volodymary or a bow towards Vladimir Putin. For the latter, on the contrary, it was a desire for peace with Russia so that the United States could devote its resources to economical recovery.
As a result, they have different approaches to the Iranian issue. For the former, this is simply a substance of continuing the chaos begun during the first word of office with withdrawal from the atomic agreement (JCPoA). On the another hand, for the latter, it is simply a question of peace with Iran, given that it is the only regional power that supports the fight against Israel.
In early March 2024, president Donald Trump sent a letter to the Revolution Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The existence of this paper was mentioned by the author himself during his speech in legislature on 4 March and then discussed in the press. According to Sky News, who has read the document, Donald Trump invites you to negotiate, at the same time stating: “If you reject your stretched hand and choose the way of escalation and support for terrorist organizations, I inform you against a fast and decisive consequence [...] I am writing this letter to open fresh horizons for our relationship, distant from years of conflict, misunderstandings and unnecessary confrontation that we have witnessed in fresh decades [...]". It is time to leave hostility behind us and open a fresh side of cooperation and common respect. present we have a historical chance [...] We will not stand idle in the face of the threats of your government towards our nation and our allies [...] If you're ready to negotiate, so are we. But if you proceed to ignore the demands of the world, past will show that you have lost the perfect opportunity.”
At the same time, the United States and the United Kingdom carried out a number of attacks on Ansar Allah in Yemen. Unlike erstwhile attacks, they were not targeted at underground military targets, but into political targets distributed among civilian infrastructure. These attacks killed the leaders of the movement and many another accidental victims, which is simply a war crime.
Ansar Allah, known pejoratively in the West as “Houthi household gang” or “Houthi”, attacked Israeli ships in the Red Sea to force Tel Aviv to consent to humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip.
Washington and London, recognising that this is how they impede global trade and without the support of the safety Council, resumed the war. They began by attacking military targets, but rapidly realized that they were hidden deep underground and could not be caused crucial damage.
Donald Trump's letter arrived in Tehran only on 12 March, and the Iranian consequence had to be long awaited. It is crucial to realize that although Tehran was flattered by Washington's secret individual approach, he could not accept respective aspects of Trump's behavior.
Firstly, the United States, according to the Trump method of Art of the Deal, threatened Iran by trying to soften it. global relations are not governed by the same principles as business. Threatening is simply a sign of weakness that the Iranians could not accept in these negotiations. Ajatollah Ali Chamenei said on 28 March: “The hostility between the United States and Israel has always existed. They're threatening to attack us, which we don't think is very likely, but if they make a mistake, they'll surely get a common blow. If enemies think they can origin riots in the country, the Iranian people themselves will answer.” president Donald Trump continued on March 30, saying NBC News: “If no agreement is reached, there will be bombings. These will be bombings that have never been seen before."
In accordance with the United Nations Charter (Article 2(4)), "Members will refrain in their global relations from threatening or utilizing force against the territorial integrity or political independency of any State".
Negotiations were so threatened even before they started.
On the another hand, the massacre of the leaders of Ansar Allah was an unwarranted war crime: General Qassem Soleimani, reorganizing the "Axis of Resistance", gave the erstwhile Iranian attorneys full freedom. To this day, Tehran has no influence, but ideologically, on Ansar Allah. Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani raised these issues in the UN [3].
Last but not least: Donald Trump, multiplying contradictory signals, did not let the Iranians to measure his relation with Israel. Does he support the plan to make a two-national state in Palestine (supported by the UN) or a judaic state in Palestine (Zionism) or "Great Israel" (revisionist Zionism)? No 1 knows his intentions.
Iran yet sent a secret consequence to a secret letter from the United States and negotiations could begin, but only indirectly. In another words, both delegations did not talk straight to each other, but only through a mediator. Thus, Tehran responded to the invitation, but expressed his disapproval of the way it was presented.
By intervening directly, France and the United Kingdom convened a closed gathering of the safety Council. Paris and London wanted to address a number of outstanding issues. Since nothing has leaked, it is unclear whether president Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Keir Starmer wanted to explain what caused the failure of all another attempts to negotiate, or on the contrary, to obscure it to make it even more obscure.
The following day, March 13, Mohammad Hassan-Nejad Pirkouhi, Director-General for global Peace and safety at the Iranian Ministry of abroad Affairs, called on Ambassadors of the United States, France and large Britain. He criticized them for organising an “unresponsible and provocative” gathering of the safety Council, abusing UN mechanisms. He stressed that although Iran no longer fulfils its commitment not to enrich uranium to a level higher than 3.67%, it inactive complies with its JCPOA obligations towards IAEA inspectors and fulfils its obligations under the atomic Non-Proliferation Agreement (NPT).
It should be remembered that in general, Iran, following the withdrawal of the United States from JCPoA and secret bilateral agreements from that period, continues to respect its obligations under the JCPoA [4]. On the contrary, France and the United Kingdom, claiming to respect the JCPoA, have not taken any steps to mitigate the consequences of the U.S. withdrawal in violation of the spirit of the text.
The UK immediately took retaliatory action, indicating that it was ready, by 18 October at the latest (the deadline for this procedure), to reconstruct UN sanctions if Iran did not limit uranium enrichment. UN sanctions were actually suspended, not repealed.
Three rounds of intermediate negotiations have already taken place. The U.S. delegation was chaired by Steve Witkoff, peculiar Envoy of president Donald Trump to the mediate East, while the Iranian abroad Minister Abbas Araghchi led the delegation. The first and 3rd meetings took place in Muscat and Oman and the second in the Sultanate embassy in Rome, in the presence of the manager of the global Atomic Energy Agency (MAEA), Argentine Rafel Grossi. Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood al-Busaidi, abroad Minister of Oman, played the function of mediator on all occasion, moving there and back between delegations.
The U.S. website has issued a number of statements that contain many inaccuracies and contradictions, both in relation to erstwhile rounds of negotiations and above all the red lines of Washington. So everyone thinks they realize what they want. In Iran, too, the public debate is peculiarly unclear. However, we remember that 1 of the currents, drawing conclusions from Libyan and Korean cases, claims that if Ayatollah Rouhollah Chomejni were inactive alive, he would most likely cancel his fatwa condemning weapons of mass demolition and, on the contrary, let the construction of an atomic bomb. Not due to the fact that he would consider it moral from a Muslim point of view, but due to the fact that it would defend Iran from the dangers it faces. Libyan Arabian Jamahirija Muammar Gaddafi, who was 1 step distant from getting specified a bomb, voluntarily dismantled her installations and received congratulations from Washington before being destroyed by him. While Korean People's Democratic Republic Kim Jong Una is inactive resisting the Pentagon due to the fact that he has a bomb and boasts about it.
On April 22, in an extended interview with Time magazine, president Donald Trump explained his way of thinking. He stated that the United States had withdrawn from JCPOA and ordered the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani to deprive Iran of its ability to fuel opposition to Israel, which is simply a prerequisite for peace in the region. He never explained it and it helps to realize his intentions during these negotiations. [5]
Meanwhile, the "revisionist Zionists" of Benyamin Netanyahu (not to be confused with the "Zionists" in general), continuing 3 decades of lies, increased the force to sabotage ongoing contacts [6]. In Washington, their most crucial man, Elliott Abrams, published a note [7It mentions the "7 sins of the erstwhile US administration" in dealing with Iran. This paper gives insight into the position of instigators of war.
According to the memo, JCPOA agreement negotiated by the administration Obama failed to limit Iran's atomic ambitions and, by returning any blocked funds, gave Iran the means to fight Israel. However, during the 5+1 talks in Lausanne and Geneva, all players (except the United States, represented by Secretary of State John Kerry) concluded that since 1988 and the fatwa issued by imam Rouhollah Chomeini in Iran there was no military atomic program. This issue, inactive contested by Israel, was confirmed on 24 March by U.S. intelligence manager Tulsi Gabbard, during the legislature proceeding and in her yearly study on threats to her country [8]. For Germany, China, France, large Britain and Russia (and most likely for many others) it is perfectly clear that Israeli accusations are not based on anything; that it is pure deception.
1) Based on this frequently repeated lie, the "revisionist Zionists" usage the fact that Iran, in consequence to the withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA and the secret agreements he signed with John Kerry, continued to enrich uranium to 60% to request Tehran to ban enrichment of uranium.
It is crucial to realize this request: it would ban Iran from any civilian programme, including, for example, radiation therapy practiced by Western states in all its hospitals.
This request is tantamount to sending Iran back to backwardness. This is akin to the way any European countries have banned their colonies of modern technologies to keep them under their domination.
2) The "Revisionist Zionists" request that negotiations not be limited to the atomic programme, but cover the issue of rockets. For years, France and Britain have falsely claimed that Tehran's improvement of ballistic and hypersonic missiles violates UN sanctions. To this end, they deliberately confuse the investigation and production of ballistic missiles with atomic warheads that could carry if Iran possessed them.
Russia and China have intervened respective times to remind the safety Council that "none of the existing global instruments and mechanisms, in peculiar the Rocket Technology Control government or the atomic Non-Proliferation Agreement, expressly or indirectly prohibits Iran from developing rocket and space programs" [9].
During the Iranian bombing of Israel on 1 October 2024 it turned out that all Iranian rocket and drones missed the mark or were shot down in flight, but for hypersonic missiles that all hit the target. This issue, unrelated to atomic issues, is so crucial for Israel.
3) "Revisionist Zionists" besides request that monitoring be carried out on Western alternatively than Iranian terms. However, Iran is subject, with its own consent, to the harshest verification procedures of the IAEA always introduced. Tehran carefully follows these procedures, and there is no reason to impose fresh ones on him unless we want to make a problem where he is not.
4) The "Revisionist Zionists" proceed to say that the threat of US force must not be abandoned prematurely. However, this is the only civilised way of doing so, as set out in the United Nations Charter (Article 2(4)) cited above.
Given that Israel does not have the means to attack Iran alone and that Tel Aviv is constantly exerting force on Washington to draw him into the war with Tehran, it is easy to realize what is behind this 4th point.
5) The revisionist Zionists then argue the softening of UN sanctions and unilateral coercion measures by the US, Britain and the EU, as this would encourage Iran to finance terrorism.
We are not talking about the killings Tehran sponsors abroad, but about his support for Hamas, muslim Jihad, Hezbollah and the opposition in Iraq, remembering that he no longer supports Ansar Allah financially or militarily. However, conflicts in Palestine, Syria and Iraq are widespread opposition to Israeli military action. They are legal under global law (which does not mean that all activities carried out on their behalf are legal).
The sole nonsubjective of this proposal is so to let Israel to break the UN resolution even longer alternatively than to prevent Iran from breaking it.
6 and 7) In conclusion, the "revisionist Zionists" request not to ignore another "bad behaviours" of Iran and not mitigate sanctions against terrorism in order to gain atomic benefits. However, Iran, no more than any another country, has " malicious behavior" towards the United States. We are talking about Iran's support for opposition to Zionism, whose resumptions in crucial financial form, revisionist Zionists, understandablely, fear.
This long article reviews the negotiations between Washington and Tehran. It must be said that Donald Trump's squad is full of people who are convinced in the rhetoric of revisionist Zionists. Many members of parliament, both Democrats and Republicans, do not approach the mediate East through the prism of their own experiences, but through the prism of their main donor, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). Merav Ceren, who has just been appointed head of the Israeli-Iran National safety Council of the White House, has dual citizenship and is an Israeli defence Force (IDF) officer [10]. Meanwhile, the head of the U.S. delegation in Oman, Steve Witkoff, is simply a developer working in respective countries, not only in the United States but besides in Muslim countries. He has already shown his independency of head by negotiating on Ukraine and listening to arguments from both sides. There is no reason, and his judaic religion is surely not active to fishy him of bias. For example, he responded positively erstwhile the Iranians repeated their proposal to make the mediate East a atomic weapons-free region specified as Latin America [11A proposal... that includes Israel.
The 4th circular of negotiations will be held on 3 May. Both sides are now aware that the key to peace lies in Donald Trump's ability to break off with the revisionist Zionists and take concrete steps forward in favour of the Palestinians.

Iran needs atomic weapons to defend against US and Israeli aggression. Paradoxically, he doesn't request it to destruct Israel. Iranian hypersonic missiles are capable of destroying the Israeli atomic investigation facility in Dimon. Radioactive contamination would make Israel uninhabitable. Iran built an exact copy of this facility, so it surely counts with this possibility.
As for the support of Ansar Allah or alleged Houthi, they receive it mainly from China and Russia. The Chinese deliver to them satellite data for rocket attacks. besides current position of American aircraft carriers.
But not only does Thierry Meyssan compose interesting things! Gilbert Doctorow is in Russia and his The impressions are highly interesting. It says that the ubiquitous fresh posters calling for joining the army have disappeared. Apparently, Russia is either expecting a fast end to the conflict, or it already has adequate strength. Russia is flourishing at all! A lie is reports of a fall in the standard of living! Russia's biggest problem present is the deficiency of hands to work. all step of the way, there's a occupation search announcement. Massive investment in infrastructure. Public transport is at western level and the free(!) station toilets are at 4-star hotels level. If I callback the “sucks” (that is the correct term) from the USSR, I do not believe it! But Doctorow admits honestly that this has not yet reached the province. He besides criticises excessive bureaucracy and claims that Russia would request Elon Musk and his DOGE.
Not all forces enjoy the possible termination of Russian intervention in Ukraine. Russia fearsThat NATO, or at least its European members, is planning to block the Kaliningrad Oblast. This district, filled with state-of-the-art (including nuclear) weapons, has long been Salt in NATO's eye. erstwhile you hear war drums that are getting louder and louder from London, Paris, and late besides from Berlin, it gives you the creeps.
Is there to be another Żyrinski prophecy that was long ago? He reworked the lyrics of the song Священная Война? And I think Russia is aware that the conflict with NATO, or at least with its European part, is very likely. The Ukrainian front is mainly visited by russian equipment and modern equipment is located in recently established bases in the west of Russia. Soldiers fighting in Ukraine are baptized there and gaining experience in the fight, and after a fewer months they are sent back. fresh ones come to their place. Experienced soldiers are deployed in bases with fresh equipment. In case of an expected NATO attack.
I can't aid but urge the capital video of the Wielomian state.
They should be shown in schools in past classes! It is amazing how small we know about the past of our country and how this communicative is falsified or misinterpreted!!
