The US home of Representatives adopted a law imposing sanctions on Georgian officials associated with corruption or acting for Russia. The provisions, supported by a cross-party (349 votes in favour, 42 against), oblige the members of the governing organization of Georgia to review the activities of the Georgian Dreams and let sanctions to be imposed on those who violate Georgia's sovereignty or are active in activities contrary to the State's interests. According to the Act, the U.S. Department of State is to produce a detailed study on the activities and presence of Russian and Chinese intelligence services in Georgia.

He does not admit the current power
Republican Congressman Joe Wilson, initiator of the MEGOBARI Act, has for years been known as a strong supporter of the Georgian opposition and critic of the ruling Georgian Dream party. It does not publically respect the current Georgian authorities as legitimate, as reflected in the sharp speech of the bill and in its political message.
The Ivanishvili government seeks to undermine Georgia's freedom. Hidden Leader
The Bid of Ivanishvili is simply a billionaire who made a luck in Russia and then became active in politics in Georgia. Although formally acting as Prime Minister only in 2012–2013, after leaving his post he is inactive considered to be the actual leader of the country. He presently serves as the Honorary president of the governing Georgian Dream Party.
Already last year, the United States imposed sanctions on respective leading politicians of the Georgian Dream party, including the Home Minister, accused of violent suppression of opposition protests. The restrictions besides included the Bidina of Ivanishvili, whom Washington sees as a central figure influencing the authoritarian course of Georgian authorities.
