Donald Trump warned airlines, pilots, and even “smugglers and human traffickers” to treat the airspace over this country as closed. Will there be armed intervention? The Polish Ministry of abroad Affairs has already reacted to the situation and contact of the Americas, informing Poles about travelling to Venezuela.
“To all airlines, pilots, drug dealers and people: Consider the airspace over and around Venezuela as closed (...)”, stated president Donald Trump on Saturday.
This means an informal tightening of warnings that the American national Aviation Administration (FAA) issued to pilots and airlines a week ago. The Agency then warned that aircraft captains would exercise peculiar caution erstwhile flying over Venezuela and part of the Caribbean due to the "detering safety situation and increased military activity in and around Venezuela".
Of course, it was about the military activity of the United States Navy, which has been carrying out attacks on, as the authorities in Washington say, smuggling boats, in which drugs are allegedly transported to the US. So far, 21 specified attacks have been carried out, killing respective twelve people.
The U.S. Army will intervene in Venezuela?
“In the air” besides hangs the phantom of US military intervention in Venezuela, whose authorities—with socialist president Nicolas Maduro at the head—Trump accused of moving a transnational drug cartel under the umbrella of the Venezuelan state. Maduro denies these charges, claiming that the president of the United States wants to overturn him.
The Polish MFA powerfully advises against citizens of our country travelling to Venezuela "because of the concentration of armed forces in the region, the suspension of multiple air connections and the anticipation of a abrupt deterioration of the safety situation".
