In the United States there will be no “defense” ministry – it changes its name to the ministry of war. The regulation will be signed on Friday by US president Donald Trump.
According to the U.S. administration, the new-old name is simply a much more clear signal for U.S. opponents.
"The return to the name of the Ministry of War will focus more on our national interest and signal America's willingness to wage war in defence of its interests," says the PAP document.
Located in the Pentagon, the hotel operates with “defence” in the name since 1949.
