On 14 January, in Washington, D.C., a tripartite consultation of the US, Denmark and Greenland took place, attended by Vice president J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the heads of the Danish and Greenlandic abroad ministers Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Vivian Motzfeldt. According to the Danish-Grenland side, the talks were held in a good and constructive atmosphere, but the fundamental differences were not overcome.
