US won't unfreeze $7bn belonging to Afghanistan's central bank

The US administration has decided not to release any funds from the $7bn frozen in US accounts of Afghanistan's central bank, the Wall Street diary reported on Monday. This is the consequence of, among another things, the Taliban giving shelter to al-Qaeda leader Ajman al-Zawahiri, who was killed in an American attack in Kabul in late July.
