U.S. president Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Washington will immediately rise the duties on Chinese goods to 125% in consequence to China's alleged " deficiency of respect" to global markets.

"In view of China's deficiency of respect for planet markets, I am hereby expanding the work imposed on China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately," Trump wrote on his actual Social social networking site.

On 2 April, Trump signed an implementing regulation introducing ‘reciprocal’ customs duties on imports from another countries. The basic minimum rate will be 10%. However, most countries will gotta face higher rates, which, as explained by the United States Trade typical Office, have been calculated on the basis of the US trade deficit with a circumstantial country to offset it alternatively than make a deficit.

The Council of the People's Republic of China in turn announced the introduction of additional duties of 34% on all goods originating in the United States. Trump subsequently promised to impose additional duties, in addition to those already announced, if Beijing did not retreat from the retaliatory action, and stated that it would not negociate with China until the country abolished the duties. White home press secretary Karoline Leavitt reported that the United States had increased import duties on Chinese goods to 104%. The work rate has been in force since Wednesday.
