The export restrictions on uncommon earth metals by China can importantly hit the U.S. Army. The fresh study shows that even 78% of the U.S.-used weapons are based on Chinese materials. Worst of all, the Pentagon has found no alternative, and arms companies are beginning to fear that Beijing will not give them the essential licence to acquisition metals.
