Democratic associate of the U.S. home of Representatives Shri Thanedar called for a vote on his earlier resolution on president Donald Trump's impeachment for 7 reasons “ Hill reports.
Thanedar had previously said that he had tabled a resolution on Trump's impeachment for 7 reasons, including "Tyran abuse of power". This is the first effort at impeachment in Trump's second term, but the chances of its approval are close to zero due to the fact that legislature is controlled by Republicans. Trump, responding to the initiative, laughed at the congressman, calling him "crazy".
"Thanedar, who announced at the end of last period that he had applied for impeachment against president Trump, made an initiative to vote on the President's impeachment", the study states.
As the publication notes, the home of Representatives now has until Thursday to vote on this issue, but it is improbable that the initiative will go far in a Republican-controlled body.
An unnamed politician in the home of Representatives, in an interview with the Axios portal, called Thanedar's initiative "a waste of time".
Earlier, the Axios portal, citing congressmen, reported that Democrats in the home of Representatives are outraged by the effort by Thanedar to impeach Trump's impeachment as they consider this initiative hastily.
Trump said in a magazine interview Time published on April 25 that it is not seeking to extend the powers of the head of state, but only to implement them within the framework of the Constitution.
