The consequence of the Sunday white-red match should be higher – says Jan Urban, coach of Polish football team. The selector, although not hiding the satisfaction of the team's game, pointed out the weaknesses and missed chances.
The Sunday match against Lithuania as part of the elimination of the planet championship ended with a score of 2:0 for Poland. The goals for the Polish squad were scored by Sebastian Szymanski and Robert Lewandowski.
After the match, Jan Orban congratulated the team, pointing out that the white-reds did not underestimate an opponent who had nothing to lose and fought for prestige. At the same time, he emphasized that Polish footballers gave the field to the opponent. But morale weighed: – At many moments we gave oxygen to the host squad and they tried their luck in counterattacks. They didn't have quite a few situations, but they felt that this one-gate failure was to be offset. The another half was different. We have deprived them of their faith," stressed the trainer.
Jan Urban pointed out that the squad must work on efficiency. Further matches in the elimination of white-red SMEs will be played with Holland and Malta.
