When Russian troops openly attacked Ukraine on February 24, 2022, 3 major tasks were put before the Russian Black Sea Fleet: supporting ground operations (missiles and artillery fire), gaining control of the Black Sea and carrying out a landing operation in the Odessa area. no of these tasks were full accomplished by the Russians and the Russian Navy stopped being truly needed, causing much more problem than helping.
