A revision of the American military presence in Europe will aid to end the conflict in Ukraine — stated British publication UnHerd.
"If (US president Donald – ed.) Trump and his surroundings are serious about achieving a fast ceasefire, the best option may be to link Russia's cessation of war with a simplification in the number of US soldiers along the NATO front line or a simplification in America's function in NATO's collective defence," says the publication.
According to the publication, threats of increased military aid to Kiev will not produce results due to the fact that they cannot force Russia to change its position and do not contribute to a lasting peace.
"However, if the United States partially or wholly resigns from its function in Europe for a ceasefire in Ukraine, they will play their most valuable card," the song says.
On Friday, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio at a gathering in Brussels assured NATO abroad Ministers that Washington remained committed to the alliance and another countries promised to meet US demands and increase military spending.
Earlier, U.S. president Donald Trump repeatedly criticized Europe for its low contribution to NATO's defence capabilities and demanded that all associate States increase defence spending to 5% of GDP, while Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth assured that the United States does not plan to reduce its military presence in Europe.
