Under fire. Russian engineering and sapper troops in the war.

In the offensive phase, pontoon and bridge units ensured efficient river crossings, although these operations on the front line, i.e. under Ukrainian artillery fire, usually ended in disasters. This was not so much related to the work of engineering troops, who were able to rapidly set up even 2-3 crossings in 1 place, but to the fast detection of the crossing location thanks to drones and the placing of artillery fire on it.
