UN safety Council Resolution on Gaza. Why did the US abstain?

Resolution 2728, demanding an immediate ceasefire during Ramadan, proposed by a group of 10 members of the non-permanent UN safety Council, was supported by representatives of 14 states. No 1 voted against and 1 country abstained. That country was the United States.
