The success of Polish and French officers and the effect of... neighbouring vigilance. A Pole wanted since 2008 in connection with serious sexual crime was detained in France after his data was published on the EU Most Wanted website, reported Europol.
The arrest occurred in La Cavalerie in the south of the country after signals from residents who recognized a man through an global appeal.
The detention was a consequence of cooperation between Polish FAST team, ENFAST network and French police. The key was anonymous information provided through the platform, indicating that the wanted individual may be hiding in France. After its verification, the services took coordinated action.
The man is presently awaiting extradition to Poland.
