Police detained a Ukrainian citizen who was conducting a fictional business activity. Her “work” consisted in issuing false employment certificates in Poland. These papers allowed Belarusian citizens to get Polish visas and enter the country. For each “paper” she charged 400 euros. The case described well shows how modern human trafficking in Central and east Europe works. It no longer resembles a classic, violent spread across the border. It is increasingly based on formal legal procedures that are systematically abused.
The Ukrainian founded a company that legalized immigrants to the left. Case described by RMF24 is not just another criminal incident, but an example of a wider phenomenon that begins to adopt a repetitive and hard to halt character. The scale of the practice cultivated by the disgusting Ukrainian was significant. Hundreds of papers and dozens are involved, and most likely hundreds of people who entered Poland based on falsified grounds.
This case shows well how the nature of modern illegal migration has changed. It is no longer just about crossing borders beyond state control, but it is increasingly utilizing legal administrative channels created by loopholes in law that let immigrants to run recruitment companies. Visa systems and employment procedures become a tool that can be circumvented utilizing seemingly correct documents. The consequence is simply a situation where formal legality covers the actual illegality of the full process.
The most worrying is the mechanics of self-replicating this phenomenon. Migration is network-based – persons who have benefited from illegal or semi-legal means of entry forward the information. This creates informal channels that, over time, start to function as a functioning service market. These are not isolated cases but a sustainable model: migrants bring in more migrants, frequently with full awareness of circumvention.
The function of intermediaries is besides clearly visible in this case. It is they who organize the full process – from paper preparation to entry logistics. Especially visible is the activity of alleged "war refugees" from Ukraine, who, thanks to their cognition of the reality of functioning in Poland, can decision smoothly in the administrative strategy and exploit its gaps. In practice this means that they frequently dominate both the smuggling of African and Asian refugees and the legalization of white, Belarusian and Russian immigrants.
The State's reaction is only point-by-point. Arrests and criminal charges are important, but they do not solve a problem that has a clearly systemic dimension. As long as procedures can be utilized in this way, akin mechanisms will play out. The scale of the phenomenon may stay underestimated due to the fact that the cases disclosed are only a fragment of the whole.
OUR COMMENTS: This case of Ukrainian company shows that we are dealing not with an incident, but with a model of action that is fundamentally systemicly tolerated. If effective control and verification mechanisms are not in place, the process will make and Poland will not really know erstwhile it will be flooded with immigrants. This will, of course, affect the standard of surviving of autochthons, who are mostly against immigration.
