Servants of the Ukrainian People of the civilian Coalition proposed introduction of category C, C+E and D driving tests in Ukrainian. Although even the Ministry of Infrastructure assessed the post sceptically, the task is inactive under pressure. This is another component of Ukrainian takeover of the Polish transport industry.

The Ukrainianization of Poland goes full steam. Members of the Civic Coalition have just made a request to the Minister of Infrastructure to amend the rules on driving tests for professional drivers. The initiative concerns the anticipation of taking C, C+E and D categories examinations in Ukrainian, which, according to the authors, would aid reduce the deficit of drivers in the transport industry.

Under the current regulations, examination questions were translated by the Commission for the verification and recommendations of examination questions and subsequently approved by the Minister of Infrastructure. The provisions supply for the anticipation of passing an examination in Ukrainian for categories B and C, provided that you stay in Poland for at least half a year, scope the required age, complete the course, undergo medical examinations, and have a paper confirming your right to stay and report.

Existing solutions, as indicated, made it easier to get a driver's licence for passenger cars and trucks, but did not take tests for professional drivers operating trucks and buses. It was this area that became the subject of the parliamentary interpelling.

Mr Tomasz Nowak and Mr Krzysztof Gadowski addressed the Minister of Infrastructure, who indicated that they were acting on behalf of transport entrepreneurs. "Polish transport companies have for years signaled the deficit of category C and D drivers essential for driving trucks and vehicle sets. The interest in obtaining specified powers among Ukrainian citizens is very high,” they wrote in the interview.

Members argued that the current request to pass an examination in Polish is simply a barrier for many candidates. "Candidates are forced to pass an examination in Polish, which creates serious linguistic difficulties – especially in the area of specialized method and legal vocabulary. In practice, these barriers prevent many candidates from taking or effectively taking the exam," they argued. According to the authors of the appeal, changes would be in the economical interest of Poland and could increase the competitiveness of national transport companies.

The Ministry of Infrastructure submitted a skeptical position. "The anticipation of joining the Ukrainian state driving test was provided for categories B and C," replied Deputy Minister Stanislaw Bukowic. ‘Theoretical part of the category examination D of the driving licence is not presently carried out in Ukrainian, and the introduction of this anticipation is not planned in the close future," he added.

The hotel indicated that there were no signals of real request for specified changes. According to the Deputy Minister, there was no interest from possible candidates, and the Marshals of the voivodships and the Provincial Road Traffic Centres under their control did not come to the Ministry with proposals on this matter.

The Ministry recalled that the current rules let for the participation of a sworn translator. In the theoretical part, the translator may aid until the test begins, explaining the rules of the examination, while in the applicable part its presence is allowed throughout the duration of the examination.

Interestingly, postulators of changes to regulations have forgotten that most alleged war refugees in Poland usage alleged surżyk and Russian language, not Ukrainian. This works mainly in the western part of Ukraine. The unwritten aim of the change is so besides the Ukrainianisation of non-Ukrainian-speaking Ukrainian citizens. Let us besides not forget that erstwhile specified regulations come into force, respective 100 fresh jobs will automatically appear nur für Ukrainener.
