Ukrainian net portal Ukrainian in Poland published an analysis of election scenarios in parliamentary elections 2023. The author of the study, Natalia Kowalenko, expresses her concern about the successful result of the Confederation, called by her an utmost right-wing organization combining nationalists and libertarians.
Kowalenko recalls the latest survey conducted for DoRzeczy.pl, which shows that the United Right can number on 35.9% of the vote, the Civic Coalition for 30.2% of the vote, and the last podium is placed by the Confederation with 12.7% of the vote. Then he asks the question: Will Polish-Ukrainian relations change after the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2023?
In the event of the triumph of the organization presently ruling, Kowalenko seems to be calm about Ukrainian business.
– In the event of a complete triumph of the Law and Justice, the government will effort to reduce the level of tension around historical issues and problems with Ukrainian grain. Even after the change of composition, the PiS government will proceed to supply Kiev with political, diplomatic and military support, as most politicians of this organization believe that this is full in line with Polish national interests – reads on the Ukrainian portal.
Equal satisfaction is shown in the case of a joint triumph of the civilian Coalition, the 3rd Way and the Left.
– Under this government, Ukrainians can inactive number on diplomatic and military support, as well as easing historical claims and economical disputes – indicates Ukrainian and adds that Although nuances may appear here, if the portfolio of the Minister of Agriculture is received by representatives of the Polish People's Party, which is part of the 3rd Way block. Finally, the People's organization is the least pro-Ukrainian political force and the most concentrated on local farmers. Furthermore, the Government of the Civic Coalition may insist little on military support for Ukraine than Andrzej Duda, who forced many risky decisions.
In the event of the Ukrainian Confederation's victory, she expresses large concern.
– This is the most risky script for Ukraine, as the Confederacy is an anti-Ukrainian open party, and among its politicians are even supporters of the alliance with Russia (e.g. Janusz Korwin-Mikke). However, it is improbable that the Confederacy will be able to form a government on its own. Although if the organization wins, it will depend on how it will be created and who. So in this script Ukrainians should anticipate appropriate decisions and block crucial laws – points out.
