Russia carried out a massive rocket attack on Ukraine on Sunday morning. An air alarm was announced throughout the country, and loud explosions were heard in Kiev, the capital city. The town's Mer Vitali Klickko reported on the wounded and many fires.
"Detonations in the capital. Air defense's working. Stay in the shelters!” wrote Klickko on Telegram.
The sirens have roared in Kiev twice. The alarm was activated for the first time around 2 p.m. (1 Polish time) and lasted about 2.5 h. The alarm signal then went off at about 5 a.m. Then there were explosions.
"Fires were reported in the districts of Darnycia, Solomianka and Oblast. There are wounded in the Darnycia area. Medicalians and another services operate on the spot," Klikczko informed.
According to monitoring channels on social networks, Russia attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles, maneuvering missiles launched by strategical bombers and missiles from ships in the Black Sea.
