An email sent by a high-ranking Immigration Service authoritative on Thursday ordered the immediate cessation of any activities related to programmes presently under review by the administration. These actions can lead to the conclusion of these initiatives, which has caused concern among immigrant rights defenders.
The US suspends exile programs. ‘The list is long’
The list of programmes covered by the temporary suspension is long and affects the ability to enter the US for people from the most susceptible areas, including Ukraine, Cuba, Haiti and Venezuela. Yael Schacher of Refugees global expressed concern in an interview with the fresh York Times, comparing this action to an earlier regulation on asylum access and exile programs. She stressed that this was evidence of the adverse approach of the current administration to humanitarian immigration.
Trump's decision, contained in a regulation signed on Monday, orders the Homeland safety Department to end "all conditional release programs" which it considers incompatible with US policy. These programs, known as “conditional exemptions”, allowed families, for example, to temporarily enter the United States, even if they did not have adequate documents, but their household members were legally resident in the country.
