Ukrainian armed forces reported on 2 January 2025 that in 2024 they succeeded in eliminating (killing or wounding) 430 990 Russian soldiers, which means the full elimination of 36 Russian mechanized divisions. Since on 7 January 2025 Russian losses exceeded the limit of 800 1000 (including over 200,000 killed), this means that in the last 12 months Ukrainians eliminated twice as many Russians as in the erstwhile 20 months of the war.
