Ukraine and France finalise a major defence agreement

According to the Military Portal, talks include possible supplies of Rafale fighters, improvement of SAMP/T systems with Aster 30 missiles and pilot training. Zelenski noted that Ukraine is presently conducting 3 parallel talks on modern aircraft – with France, Sweden and the USA. 3 platforms stay in the game: F–16, Gripen and Rafale, which are intended to enable air fleet modernisation. Earlier plans by French president Macron of 2021 were to offer Rafale to replace russian MiG-29, but the case later went silent. The subject is now coming back.
