Ukraine: Attacks on air plants in Russia

The General Staff of Ukraine reported on Wednesday the attacks on aircraft plants, producing transport aircraft in the uljanów Oblast in Russia, and repair plants for aircraft in the Nowogrodzki Oblast.

"As part of the capacity simplification of the Russian military-industrial complex, on 16 March the units of the Defence Force of Ukraine carried out an attack on the infrastructure of Awiastar aircraft facilities in the area of the city of Uljanovsk (Uljanovsk Oblast, Russia)", the staff stated in a communication.

As explained, these plants are part of the United Aviation Corporation, which belongs to the Rostech group and produce military transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A, tank aircraft Il-78M-90A, and besides service dense transport aircraft An-124 Ruslan.

‘Part of the aircraft located at the site of the plant has been damaged to varying degrees’, reported.

The General Staff of Ukraine besides reported a hit on aircraft repair plants in the Novgorod region of Russia.

"As part of the capacity simplification of the Russian military-industrial complex on March 17, Ukrainian Defence Force units hit the facilities of the 123th Air Repair Plant in the city of Stara Russa (nowogrodzki Oblast, Russia)" was declared.

The Communication explains that this company specialises in the full cycle of refurbishment and modernisation of transport aviation aircraft and their components.
