President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced on Wednesday 10 September this year, the European Union suspends all payments to Israel. This was in consequence to the genocide in the Gaza ghetto and serious violations of law against civilian Palestinians.
The EU suspended financial support for the judaic regime. Turning to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Von der Leyen powerfully condemned the Israeli attack on Gaza: "What is happening in Gaza has shaken the conscience of the world. People die begging for food. Mothers have dead children in their hands. These paintings are catastrophic. For the sake of children, for the sake of humanity, this must end – and Europe must set an example, as it has done before. – she said.
– We will suspend our bilateral support for Israel. We will suspend any payments in these areas without affecting our cooperation with civilian society or with Yad Vashem She added.
What is peculiarly important, the policy added that the Commission will shortly propose sanctions against Israeli ministers on extremist views (e.g. Jewnate Itamar Ben-Gwir) and partial suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement, targeting trade-related areas.
