The head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the head of the European Council Antonio Costa expressed solidarity with Romania on Friday following the detonation of a drone close the port of Constance.
Russia's war against Ukraine "is becoming an increasingly direct threat to countries on our east border," said von der Leyen.
It ensured full EU solidarity with EU countries exposed to specified threats. She besides stressed that the Union is investing in the improvement of anti-drone capabilities, air defence systems and early warning.
The president of the European Council, Antonio Costa, besides expressed support to Romania. He pointed out that this was the 3rd major safety incidental in Romanian territory in fresh weeks. "These incidents are a direct consequence of the Russian assault war against Ukraine," he wrote on portal X.
