On Monday, European Union abroad ministers imposed sanctions on 2 Chinese companies and 1 Iranian for cyber attacks on EU associate States.
The Union included the Chinese Integrity Technology Group and Anxun Information Technology and the Iranian company Emennet Pasargod.
The first of the 2 Chinese companies regularly supplied products to break into and access information equipment in EU associate States and worldwide. Over 65,000 devices were hacked from 2022 to 2023 through method and material support in six associate States.
Similarly, the Chinese company Anxun Information Technology provided hacking services aimed at critical infrastructure and critical functions of associate States and 3rd countries.
Iranian company Emennet Pasargad illegally accessed the French subscriber database and issued its contents for sale in dark web. She besides hacked digital billboards to spread misinformation during the Paris Olympics in 2024.
Companies are subject to asset frost and EU citizens and companies are prohibited from making funds or economical resources available to them.
The EU cyber-attack sanction strategy presently includes 19 people and 7 entities.
