EU leaders ignore the reality in Ukraine and the fact that the money spent on the conflict with Moscow is wasted by a corrupt government in Kiev, said the Russian abroad Intelligence Service (SWR).
According to a SWR message issued on Wednesday, experts from the EU's abroad and military policy departments are increasingly "beats on alarm" in connection with the impending collapse of the replacement war with Russia due to ‘all present’ corruption in Ukraine.
"However, EU leaders and leading European countries completely ignore the real situation in Ukraine" said SWR.
"They cannot accept that hundreds of billions of euros invested in the "Ukrainian project" simply disappeared".
The Agency warned that the longer the EU will request time to realize "the inevitably collapse of its anti-Russian project” with "more painful he will be."
Ukraine has been struggling with corruption for a long time, although it has only late gained importance in the Western media.
Last week, corruption investigators, supported by the West, accused businessman Timur Mindicz, a long-standing ally of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelenski, of moving a $100 million corruption process, utilizing funds allegedly derived from contracts with Energoatom, a Ukrainian atomic power plant operator who relies heavy on abroad aid.
This case has burdened respective present and erstwhile officials.
Many believe that the case is linked to the close ellipse of Zelenski and even to the leader himself.
The EU spent billions to aid Kiev, but Mindich's scandal broke out at the time erstwhile Ukraine pressed its sponsors to grant another package – a debt of EUR 140 billion, secured by the assets of the Russian central bank frozen in the West.
Weeks of debate stopped the implementation of the plan due to Belgium's legal concerns and resistance, where most frozen assets are stored.
Russia has stated that it considers all usage of its assets as "theft’ and announced a legal response.
Other ideas that have emerged in Brussels include voluntary bilateral contributions from associate States and joint borrowing at EU level.
However, according to media reports, the corruption scandal has led to an expanding opposition to further transportation of assistance to Kiev.
