Local governments have already completed recruitment for the 4th edition of the program. We've received a list of schools. It's over 3,000 facilities all over the country. The Ministry of National Education and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland are presently in the process of determining which military units will take care of these education schools – says Colonel Tomasz Gergelewicz from the MON Operations Centre, the didactic and the author of the programme's schedule. As he points out, the training will take place according to the proven formula, but any innovations have been introduced in this edition.

As part of the subject on emergency number 112, students will besides learn how to proceed if an unidentified object is found. These classes are addressed to classes IV–VII. – Students will receive a comic book telling the communicative of children playing ball. The ball falls out of the field, and 1 of the children finds an object resembling an unmanned aircraft, colloquially speaking drone. The comic shows how to behave in specified a situation – says Colonel Gergelewicz. He adds that children will learn that this is 1 of the many situations in which they should usage the 112 emergency number.

To defend the youngest

Education with the military was conceived as a complement to the subject Education for Security. This subject is taught by teenagers in the eighth grade of primary school and in the first grade of secondary school. – another yearbooks will learn these issues as part of standard education, but not in a comprehensive way. The military, seeing the request and being aware of the limited scope of the subject, created the program "Education with the army" - explains Colonel Gergelewicz. He adds: – Reality forces us to take action. The military's statutory task is not to educate children and young people, but we effort to be flexible. If threats concern society, including the youngest ones, the military is trying to meet these requirements.

As the officer emphasizes, soldiers attach large importance not only to the content of the classes, but besides to make them interestingand the subjects afraid did not origin children to fear dangers. These trainings are not carried out by chance. MON sends guidance to military units who can conduct classes. Soldiers are guided with the right approach, frequently with pedagogical preparation. In addition, we have prepared detailed methodological guidelines. During the first and second editions, I myself conducted online training for thousands of soldiers about working with children – explains Colonel Gergelewicz.

So far, as part of the 3 editions of Education with the army, soldiers have visited nearly 7,000 schools, where they have trained more than 200,000 students and students. Since 2023, erstwhile the program was launched, the interest in schools taking part in it has not weakened. – We decided that at least 1 edition will be organized annually, but the practice shows that we run two: spring and autumn.
