Three participants of the hunger protest in the Inowrocław Salt Mines “Solino” went to the infirmary after the wellness condition deteriorated – said the head of the company “Solidarity” Jerzy Gawada.

More staff took up the hospital. The hunger started on 15 March was further exacerbated – the participants even resigned from taking fluids.

Trade unionists protest the degradation of the industrial base and request a strong government response, including greater state control over strategical resources linked to salt production and retention of natural materials.

The company, owned by Orlen, repudiates the allegations, ensuring that no staff cuts and continued investment are made. A akin position is taken by the Ministry of State Activities, which underlines the strategical importance of the ongoing projects, and indicates that the protest started without erstwhile talks.
