Akademies: War Art, Police and Fire Department concluded an agreement on the launch of joint first-degree studies in the field of civilian Protection and civilian Protection. Classes start in March 2026. “We want to prepare graduates to build the resilience of the state in times of peace, crisis and war,” says Gen. Mieczysław Gocul, Rector of AszWoj.

The agreement was signed by the Rectors of 3 universities who developed a common course of first degree studies in the field of civilian Protection and civilian Defense: Nadinsp. Dr. Agata Malasińska-Nagórny, Commandant-Rector of the Police Academy in Szczytno, superbrigated by Dr. Tomasz Klimczak, Rector-Commander of the Fire Academy in Warsaw, and Gen. Mieczysław Gocul, Rector-Commander War Art Academy in Warsaw, which plays the function of task coordinator.
The first semester is due to start on March 1st next year. About 30 seats were planned. Undergraduate studies will last for 3 years. Students will spend all year in a different college. For starters, Szczytno, the next 2 semesters are the domain of the Fire Academy, the last year students will learn in AszWoj. The licence will be a certificate of 3 universities.
– Peacetime is simply a domain of police, a time of crisis – Fire Department, which is simply a national rescue and firefighting strategy and is liable for civilian protection and civilian defence during the crisis. Wartime is the competence of the Academy of War Art – indicated the Gen. Gocul during the ceremony to sign the agreement.
As he said, the task of the fresh direction is to prepare graduates to lead the population, build the resilience of the state in times of peace, in times of crisis and in situations of direct threat to the safety of the state and war. Gen. Gocul stressed that studies will focus on applicable activities, prepare to decide what direction to take to guarantee an adequate level of civilian protection and protection in critical situations, and will strengthen the state's resilience.

Klimczak noted that the task combines the forces of 3 crucial uniformed academy. “Who else, another than our universities, is to educate staff that will warrant the safety of the population in the future,” said the commander. He besides recalled that today's finalization of the task preceded Agreement signed in August by Stanisław Wzątek, Deputy Minister of Defence and Wiesław Leśniakiewicz, Deputy Minister of the Interior, which was at the foundation of interministerial educational cooperation.

The Academy of War Art is the highest rank civil-military university in Poland, which educates staff for the needs of the Polish Army and state administration. The university besides conducts innovative investigation in the field of national security, management and command.
The Fire Academy continues the tradition of training firemen started in 1939. The university prepares officers of the State Fire Department and specialists in safety engineering, fire protection and civilian protection.
The Police Academy is the only educational institution in Poland for candidates for police officers. The university has the power to give degrees in safety and legal sciences.
