American test of an intercontinental rocket. "We have peace by force"

The United States conducted an unarmed intercontinental ballistic rocket test on Minuteman III. The rocket, capable of carrying atomic warheads, was launched from Vandenberg Base, California and landed nearly 7,000 kilometres further on the ground.
