The President's wage is governed by the Act of 31 July 1981 on the remuneration of persons occupying state management positions. The paper shows that the President's earnings consist of a basic wage of 9.8 times the base amount - and a function allowance - 4.2 times the same basis. The basic amount on the management positions of the state is PLN 1,878.89. Consequently, the President's wage is PLN 18,413.12 gross (1878.89 x 9,8), while the function allowance is PLN 7,891.34 gross (1878.89 x 4,2). As a result, the monthly wage of the head of state is PLN 26 304.46 gross. The amount will be even higher if we include the allowance for years. This benefit increases the basic wage by 1% each year, up to a level of 20%. As a result, the allowance may amount to a maximum of PLN 3,682.62 gross, and then the wage of the head of the state already amounts to PLN 29,987.08 gross per month. But that is not the end.
